About the role
As an Associate at J&T Ventures, you'll have the chance to immerse yourself in the thrilling world of venture capital, with a focus on technology companies and startups. Your responsibilities will be multifaceted, encompassing various aspects of the investment process.
Your role will involve:
- Sourcing Investment Opportunities: Discover exciting potential investments in the tech and startup landscape, using your keen eye for promising ventures and groundbreaking ideas across emerging industries.
- Overseeing the investment process: Cooperate with founders throughout the investment process, developing an investment thesis, negotiating terms, preparing legal documentation and presenting the case to the investment committee.
- Supporting portfolio companies: Support the growth of portfolio companies by connecting them with potential clients, helping them work through issues, preparing them for further funding rounds and executing an exit.
- Overseeing internal initiatives: Take responsibility for initiatives like sales, mergers or internal projects. You will also oversee any tasks related to your assigned portfolio companies and collaborate with lawyers, analysts, external partners etc.
- External Communication: Engage with external partners and representatives of major corporations to validate project quality and obtain product or founder references. Maintain fruitful relationships with investors, portfolio companies, and partners through effective communication.
In addition, you'll also get the opportunity to represent J&T Ventures in various marketing activities. You'll actively participate in conferences, events, panel discussions, and professional events aimed at startups, investors, and experts. Through these activities, you can build your network and foster valuable relationships.
About you
- You have 2-4 years of working experience in relevant fields such as investment funds, consulting firms, startups, or technology-focused companies (technical expertise or a technology-focused degree is a bonus)
- You are fluent in both Czech and English (other languages are a bonus)
- You have a proven track record of successfully managing and executing projects
- You are skilled with software like Microsoft Word, Excel, G Suite, Notion, and CRM systems like Affinity
- You are an empathetic person with excellent communication skills
- You are flexible, capable of multitasking and o working under a deadline if needed

- Completing assignments within the given timeframe
Who you’ll report to?
- You will mainly report to the partners of the fund
